Angola is one of the relatively small number of African countries with a resident UAE embassy — it's operated in Luanda's Talatona district since August 2018, so unlike travellers from countries with no nearby mission, you have a direct point of contact if you need one.

Unlike many African capitals, Luanda has a direct connection: Emirates flies nonstop several times a week, taking around 7 hours 45 minutes. Angola's currency, the kwanza (AOA), isn't easy to exchange once you leave the country — most Dubai exchange counters won't carry it, and rates can be poor where you do find one.
