Do Antigua and Barbuda Citizens Need a Visa for Dubai?
Not anymore, in most cases. In September 2025, Antigua and Barbuda's Foreign Affairs Minister and the UAE's Minister of State for International Cooperation signed the waiver agreement, and Antigua and Barbuda's Parliament has since ratified it. That's a real shift: previously, Dubai visa requirements for Antigua and Barbuda meant applying in advance, similar to what's outlined in our general Dubai visa requirements guide. Now, short tourism and business visits no longer need one.
Because this is such a recent change, it's worth double-checking your specific situation before booking — airline check-in staff and older sources online may not have caught up yet. Antigua and Barbuda doesn't have a UAE embassy on its own soil — the UAE's mission covering the country is non-resident, run out of the UAE Embassy in Havana, Cuba, which also handles several other Eastern Caribbean nations.

Going the other direction, Antigua and Barbuda opened its own embassy in Abu Dhabi in May 2025, along with a trade and tourism office in Dubai — so if you need help with a passport or travel document while you're actually in the UAE, your own country's Dubai office is the more useful contact than the Havana embassy.
Flying From Antigua to Dubai
There's no direct flight between Antigua and Dubai — the Caribbean and the Gulf just aren't connected that way yet. The most practical route is through a major hub: British Airways flies Antigua to London Gatwick directly, and London has multiple daily flights on to Dubai. Currency: East Caribbean Dollar to Dirham
Antigua and Barbuda uses the Eastern Caribbean dollar (XCD), pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate since 1976. That makes budgeting simple — work out your Dubai spending in US dollars and your XCD equivalent won't shift with exchange rate swings.
