Flights from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Dubai International run in just over four hours. It is one of the most direct corridors between Russia and the Gulf — yet the paperwork question still stops people before they even search for tickets. Here is the direct answer: the dubai visits visa for russia citizenship is a fully online process, and there is no counter at Dubai International Airport where Russian passport holders can apply on arrival. Whether you are in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, or anywhere across Tyumen Oblast, Yamalo-Nenets AO, or Magadan Oblast — the application steps are identical and entirely digital. This guide covers everything you need for 2026: visa types, exact dubai visa cost in AED and USD, the complete document checklist including the September 2025 passport rule change, step-by-step application guidance, and every current rule that applies specifically to Russia passport holders. Before you start filling any form, reviewing the full dubai visit visa requirements gives you the clearest starting point.
Airline Boarding Warning: Airlines operating flights from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and other Russian airports to Dubai — including flydubai and Emirates — will deny boarding to Russia passport holders who arrive at the gate without a valid pre-approved UAE visa. The airline carries financial liability for improperly documented passengers, which is why the check happens before departure, not on landing in Dubai.
Yes — Russia passport holders require a pre-approved UAE visa before entering the country. This applies to every purpose of travel: tourism, family visits, business meetings, medical care, and even transit through Dubai airport if you plan to exit the terminal. The process runs entirely online through a licensed visa agent authorised by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) or the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). No embassy visit is required — whether you are applying from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, or Nizhny Novgorod.
One important point about the situation for Russian travelers in 2026: while certain international banking restrictions have affected some payment channels, the UAE visa application process itself remains fully accessible to Russian nationals. Many Russia-based applicants use international payment cards or process payments through UAE-based licensed agents without issue. If you face a payment difficulty, contact your chosen agent directly for alternative methods they support.
Russia passport holders are NOT eligible for visa on arrival in the UAE. There is no facility at Dubai International Airport (DXB), Al Maktoum Airport (DWC), or any other UAE port of entry where Russian nationals can apply upon landing. A visa must be approved before your journey begins. Arriving without a pre-approved visa means the airline will refuse to board you in Moscow or Saint Petersburg — you will not reach Dubai without it.
Important: A valid, approved UAE visa does not automatically guarantee entry into the country. The final entry decision rests with the UAE immigration officer at the port of entry. Always carry your return ticket confirmation, hotel booking, and supporting financial documents at immigration — these support your position as a genuine visitor.
Russian nationals can choose from several dubai travel visa categories depending on the length of stay, number of planned entries, and purpose of travel. One clarification worth making upfront: “Dubai tourist visa” and “Dubai visit visa” are the same document. The UAE government officially calls it a visit visa — “tourist visa” is common usage. Both terms refer to the identical permit. There is no functional difference.
A compact option suited to a focused holiday or a quick business trip from Moscow or Saint Petersburg. Single entry. You may stay up to 14 days from the date you enter the UAE. The visa remains valid for 58 days from the issue date, giving flexibility on when you actually travel after approval. Many guides skip this type entirely — but for Russian nationals planning a tight itinerary, it is often the most cost-effective choice.
Best for: Short holidays, Eid breaks, quick sourcing trips from Moscow or Novosibirsk
The most commonly applied visa option for Russian nationals. Single entry, 30 days of stay from the date of arrival. Valid for 58 days from the issue date. This dubai 30 days visa covers most standard tourism or family visit needs. The 30-day counter starts from the day you enter Dubai — not from when the visa was approved. A traveler from Yekaterinburg who gets visa approval on June 1 and arrives in Dubai on June 20 still gets a full 30 days from June 20.
Best for: First-time Dubai visitors from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan — standard tourism and family holidays
For Russian travelers planning a longer stay — exploring multiple emirates, handling medical travel, working remotely, or an extended family visit. Single entry; stay up to 60 days from arrival. The validity window after issue is also 60 days. A growing number of Russian professionals living in Nizhny Novgorod or Tyumen Oblast use this option for extended stays while exploring relocation possibilities in Dubai.
Best for: Medical visitors, extended holidays, remote workers, longer family stays
A long-stay option for Russian nationals handling extended business negotiations, property research, job searching, or medical treatment in Dubai. A dubai 90 days visa requires a bank statement showing a minimum AED 5,000 (~USD 1,360) balance alongside standard documents. Validity window from issue: 90 days. This visa type has seen increased uptake from Russian nationals since 2022, particularly those exploring long-term relocation or investment in the UAE property market.
Best for: Investors, long business stays, job seekers, medical tourism visitors
If your Moscow-to-Dubai flight is a connection point and you want to leave the airport and experience the city during a long layover, the 96-hour transit visa gives exactly four days. A confirmed onward ticket is mandatory to apply. Full details are in the dubai transit visa guide.
Best for: Russian travelers transiting through DXB to other destinations
For Russian nationals who visit Dubai regularly for business, family, or personal travel. You can enter and exit the UAE multiple times during the visa validity period. Two options exist in 2026:
Best for: Russian business travelers, entrepreneurs, frequent Dubai visitors, and those with family in the UAE
This is the single most misunderstood point about UAE visas. Visa validity — how long you have to enter — and stay duration — how long you can remain after entry — are two completely separate things. The table below makes it clear. For a deeper overview of each type, the types of dubai visit visa guide covers them all.
| Visa Type | Enter UAE Within | Stay After Entry | Entry Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14-Day Visit Visa | 58 days from issue | 14 days from entry | Single Entry |
| 30-Day Visit Visa | 58 days from issue | 30 days from entry | Single Entry |
| 60-Day Visit Visa | 60 days from issue | 60 days from entry | Single Entry |
| 90-Day Visit Visa | 90 days from issue | 90 days from entry | Single Entry |
| 96-Hr Transit | 14 days from issue | 4 days from entry | Single Entry |
| Multiple Entry (1-yr) | Any entry within 1 year | 30 days per entry | Multiple Entry |
| Multiple Entry (5-yr) | Any entry within 5 years | 90 days/entry, max 180 days/year | Multiple Entry |
Visa validity and stay durations are set by UAE federal authorities and subject to change. Always verify with your licensed agent before applying.
Single entry vs multiple entry in plain terms: On a single entry visa, the moment you exit the UAE — even for a day trip to Oman or Musandam — your visa is cancelled. On a multiple entry visa, you can leave and return as many times as needed within the validity period. If you are planning any cross-border trips, choose multiple entry before you depart Russia.
A standard 30-day dubai visit visa price for Russian nationals costs between AED 550 and AED 750 (approximately USD 150–204). The total dubai visa cost shown on most platforms includes three components: the UAE government base fee, 5% VAT, and the licensed agent’s service charge — which is why prices vary slightly between platforms. Both are legitimate charges. The full step-by-step process is covered in this guide on the simplest dubai visit visa process.
| Visa Type | Stay Duration | Price (AED) | Price (USD ~) | Processing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14-Day Single Entry | 14 days | AED 550 – 700 | ~USD 150 – 190 | 3–4 working days |
| 30-Day Single Entry | 30 days | AED 550 – 750 | ~USD 150 – 204 | 3–5 working days |
| 60-Day Single Entry | 60 days | AED 700 – 1,000 | ~USD 190 – 272 | 3–5 working days |
| 90-Day Single Entry | 90 days | AED 1,400 – 1,700 | ~USD 381 – 463 | 4–7 working days |
| 96-Hour Transit | 4 days | AED 400 – 500 | ~USD 109 – 136 | 1–2 working days |
| Multiple Entry (1-yr) | 30 days/entry | AED 1,392 | ~USD 379 | 4–6 working days |
| Multiple Entry (5-yr) | 90 days/entry | AED 5,000+ | ~USD 1,361+ | 5–7 working days |
| Express (any type) | — | +AED 150 – 400 | +~USD 41 – 109 | 24–48 hours |
| Emergency (any type) | — | +AED 300 – 500 | +~USD 82 – 136 | 2–4 hours |
Price Disclaimer: All prices are based on 2026 market data and include UAE government fees, 5% VAT, and agent service charges. Fees vary by platform and are subject to change without notice. Always confirm the exact current price with your chosen licensed agent before making payment.
Some licensed agents require a refundable security deposit of AED 2,500 (~USD 681) as part of the application for Russia passport holders. This is separate from the visa fee itself. It is returned once your visa purpose is completed and you depart the UAE before the expiry date. Not all agents require this — confirm with your chosen agent before making any payment.
| Visa Type | Min Balance (AED) | Min Balance (USD ~) | Other Proof Needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 90-Day Single Entry | AED 5,000 | ~USD 1,360 | Return ticket + hotel booking |
| 5-Year Multiple Entry | AED 14,700 | ~USD 4,000 | Property or savings proof |
Bank statement requirements apply only to 90-day and 5-year multiple entry visa types. Standard 14-day, 30-day, and 60-day tourist visas do not require bank statements.
The dubai visa online application process for Russian nationals is straightforward when every document is prepared correctly before submission. The most common cause of rejection is a document error that could have been avoided. Bank statements are not required for standard 14-day, 30-day, or 60-day tourist visas — they only become mandatory for 90-day and 5-year applications. The full requirements list is also available in the requirements for dubai visit visa guide.
| Document | What It Must Include |
|---|---|
| Passport — Bio Page + Cover Page | Color scan of bio-data page AND front cover page. Mandatory since September 19, 2025 — missing the cover page causes rejection or delay. Minimum 6 months validity from your UAE entry date (not application date). Minimum 2 blank visa pages for stamps. |
| Passport First & Last Page | Both the first and last pages of the passport must be included in the scan package — not just the bio-data page alone. |
| Passport-Size Photo (Color Only) | Color photograph only — black and white is not accepted and causes rejection. White background. No glasses. Full face visible, no obstructions. Taken within the last 6 months. Minimum 300 DPI, file under 2MB, JPG or PNG format. |
| Return Flight Ticket | Confirmed round-trip booking showing both entry to and exit from UAE. One-way tickets significantly increase rejection risk. If visa is still pending, book refundable flights only. |
| Hotel Booking / Accommodation Proof | Confirmed hotel reservation for the full stay duration. If staying with a UAE resident — invitation letter plus copy of their Emirates ID instead. |
| Travel Insurance | MANDATORY per UAE government directive — not optional, not recommended. Mandatory. Must include UAE medical coverage. Minimum AED 100,000 in coverage. Domestic Russian insurance is not accepted — purchase a dedicated international policy valid in the UAE. |
Timing Tip: If your visa is still being processed, book only refundable flights and refundable hotel. Non-refundable bookings made before visa confirmation are a financial risk — if the application is rejected or delayed, non-refundable tickets cannot be recovered. Always wait for the visa PDF before booking non-refundable travel.
| Visa Type | Extra Documents Required |
|---|---|
| 90-Day Single Entry | Bank statement showing min AED 5,000 (~USD 1,360) + confirmed return ticket + hotel booking |
| 5-Year Multiple Entry | Bank statement showing min USD 4,000 (AED ~14,700) + property or savings proof |
| Sponsored Visit Visa | UAE sponsor’s Emirates ID + salary proof + relationship documentation; application through GDRFA |
| Minor / Child Visa | Child’s birth certificate + parental consent letter (notarized strongly advised if travelling with one parent only) |
| 96-Hour Transit | Confirmed onward flight ticket with date, destination, and flight number clearly visible |
The process to apply for dubai visa from russia is completely digital. Whether you are in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk, or Yamalo-Nenets AO — the steps are identical. Licensed visa agents authorised by DTCM or GDRFA submit your application directly into the UAE immigration system. This is the standard route for how to apply dubai visa from russia in 2026.
Apply for Your Dubai Visit Visa Today
100% online • 3–5 working day approval • Licensed platform • All Russian cities • Family applications welcome
Apply for Dubai Visa →Visa fees and processing times are estimates. Always confirm current prices at time of application.
The approved visa arrives as a PDF attachment to your registered email. It contains your full name, Russian passport number, visa number, validity dates, and entry type. You can present it at DXB immigration on your phone screen or as a printed paper copy — both are fully accepted. Save it in multiple locations before you travel. A dead phone battery at Moscow Sheremetyevo or Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport is easily avoided if you email the file to your cloud account beforehand.
Timing Tip: Apply at least 7–10 days before travel — not 2–3 days. A document resubmission request adds 1–2 extra days. Avoid submitting on Fridays and Saturdays — UAE government processing does not run over the weekend. A Friday submission starts processing on Monday. Submit Tuesday or Wednesday for the fastest turnaround on a standard application.
Standard processing for Russian applicants runs 3–5 working days. During peak periods like Eid, Ramadan, or UAE national holidays, processing can take up to 7 working days. Apply at least 10 days before travel during these periods. The full step-by-step status tracking method is covered in the how to check dubai visit visa status guide.
| Speed | Processing Time | Extra Cost (AED) | Extra Cost (USD ~) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 3–5 working days | Included in base fee | Included |
| Express | 24–48 hours | +AED 150 – 250 | +~USD 41 – 68 |
| Emergency | 2–4 hours | +AED 300 – 500 | +~USD 82 – 136 |
Processing fee additions are indicative and vary by agent. Confirm before paying.
After submitting your application, you can track its status through two main routes:
Getting your visa approved is not the end of the process — it continues at DXB immigration. Once you land at Dubai International Airport, here is what Russian passport holders should expect and what to have ready.
In February 2026, Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum Airport activated 122 biometric Smart Gates using face and iris recognition technology. Clearance takes approximately 5 seconds per passenger — no passport stamping required. The gate reads your electronic visa or entry permit automatically. Enroll once via the GDRFA app or at an airport kiosk on your first visit, then use the Smart Gate on every subsequent arrival. Russia passport holders with a valid approved UAE visa can use Smart Gates on eligible visits.
Most rejections for Russian applicants come from specific, fixable document errors — not from nationality itself. A clean application with correct documents submitted through a reliable licensed agent has a solid approval rate. Full reapplication details are covered in the common reasons for dubai visit visa rejection guide.
| Rejection Reason | How to Fix It |
|---|---|
| Passport validity under 6 months from UAE entry date | The 6-month rule counts from your UAE entry date — not your application date. Renew Russian passport before applying if needed. |
| Passport cover page missing (September 2025 rule) | Include color scan of the external front cover page — mandatory since September 19, 2025. Missing it causes rejection with no exception. |
| Blurry or angled passport scan | Lay passport completely flat. Use scanner or strong daylight. All text must be fully readable. Minimum 300 DPI. |
| Photo not meeting specs (black & white, outdated, obstructed) | Color only. White background. No glasses. Full face, no obstructions. Taken within last 6 months. Minimum 300 DPI. |
| No return flight ticket submitted | Submit confirmed round-trip booking. One-way tickets signal overstay risk and significantly increase rejection probability. |
| No travel insurance submitted | Mandatory per UAE government directive. Applications without valid UAE-coverage insurance are rejected. |
| Previous UAE overstay or immigration violation | Any prior UAE violation is flagged in ICP and GDRFA databases. Settle all outstanding fines via the ICP portal before reapplying. |
| Name / DOB mismatch across documents | Use the exact spelling from your Russian passport throughout the application form. Transliteration differences between Cyrillic and Latin must match exactly as on the passport. |
UAE immigration does not typically state the specific rejection reason. Identify the most likely cause from the checklist above, correct it, and reapply. There is no mandatory waiting period before resubmitting in most cases. A single rejection does not permanently affect your record — but repeated submissions without fixing the root cause can increase scrutiny. More on the reapplication process is in the reapplying after rejection guide.
Staying beyond your permitted period in the UAE carries real financial and legal consequences. The rules updated in February 2026 removed the grace period that previously applied to tourist visa holders. Full extension procedures are detailed in the dubai visit visa extension guide.
ICP & GDRFA Confirmed (February 2026): The grace period for tourist and visit visa holders has been officially removed. Overstay fines begin from Day 1 after visa expiry — AED 50 per day (~USD 13.6/day) — uniform across all seven emirates. No warning, no exceptions.
| Overstay Period | Fine / Consequence | Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 onwards | AED 50/day (~USD 13.6/day) | Pay fine and depart |
| More than 30 days | AED 50/day + Exit Permit (AED 250–300) | Obtain exit permit first; depart within 7–10 days |
| 6+ months | Cumulative fines + possible UAE entry ban | Legal advice strongly recommended before attempting departure |
Overstay fine amounts based on ICP and GDRFA official data. Subject to change. Verify current rates before travel.
30-Day Re-Entry Wait Rule
If you exit the UAE after completing a 30-day tourist visa, UAE immigration expects a minimum 30-day gap before re-entry on another tourist visa. Attempting to return immediately can result in entry refusal at the airport. This particularly affects Russian nationals who visit Dubai regularly for business or family — plan your travel calendar accordingly.
If you have a family member or friend who holds a valid UAE residence visa, they can sponsor your visit by applying through the GDRFA Dubai portal or an Amer Centre on your behalf. The sponsor takes on legal responsibility for your stay — including any overstay penalties. The full eligibility criteria are covered in the dubai visit visa sponsor eligibility guide.
| Relationship to Visitor | Min Monthly Salary (AED) | Min Monthly Salary (USD ~) |
|---|---|---|
| Spouse / Child / Parent (first-degree) | AED 4,000 / month | ~USD 1,089 / month |
| Second / Third Degree Relative | AED 8,000 / month | ~USD 2,178 / month |
| Friend (non-relative) | AED 15,000 / month | ~USD 4,084 / month |
Sponsor salary thresholds based on GDRFA 2026 guidelines. Subject to change.
Getting your dubai visits visa for russia citizenship approved is step one. Arriving informed about UAE laws and local customs is what makes the trip itself go smoothly. These are the areas where first-time visitors from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and other Russian cities most often encounter unexpected problems.
Travel insurance is mandatory per UAE government directive — not optional, not recommended — mandatory. Minimum AED 100,000 medical coverage valid in the UAE. Domestic insurance from Russia is not recognized or accepted. Purchase a dedicated international policy valid in the UAE before submitting your application. Applications submitted without valid UAE-coverage insurance are rejected or significantly delayed.
Choosing the Green Channel at Dubai customs and being found with prohibited items — “I didn’t know” is not a valid excuse. Full details are in the banned items in Dubai guide. Key points for Russia travelers:
Eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours in Ramadan is prohibited and carries a fine. Restaurants operate with reduced daytime hours. After sunset, Dubai becomes particularly vibrant — markets, outdoor dining, and family areas come alive. Visa processing can also be slightly slower during Ramadan — apply at least 10 days before travel during this period.
Every traveler — including infants and children of any age — requires their own UAE visit visa. There is no family visa or option to include a child on a parent’s visa. This is one of the most common oversights Russian families make when planning their first Dubai trip.
Wrong information spreads fast in Russian travel communities and expat forums. Here is what is actually true for Russia passport holders applying for a dubai travel visa in 2026:
| Myth | Reality |
|---|---|
| Russia nationals can get visa on arrival in Dubai | False. Pre-approval before travel is mandatory. Airlines will deny boarding without a valid approved visa. |
| Bank statements are always required | Not for standard 30–60 day tourist visas. Bank statements are mandatory only for 90-day and 5-year multiple entry visas. |
| There is a grace period after visa expiry | Removed February 2026. Fines start from Day 1 of overstay — AED 50/day. No grace period exists. |
| Dubai visa only works in Dubai emirate | False. A UAE visit visa allows free travel across all seven emirates — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, and others — with no additional permit. |
| Travel insurance is optional for Russian applicants | Mandatory per UAE government directive. Applications without valid insurance are rejected. |
| Dubai tourist visa and visit visa are different permits | Same document. UAE officially calls it a visit visa. “Tourist visa” is common usage — both terms refer to the identical permit. |
| Visa approval guarantees UAE entry | A valid visa does not guarantee entry. UAE immigration officers make the final entry decision at the port of entry. |
| You can re-enter Dubai immediately after a 30-day visa expires | A 30-day minimum gap is expected before re-entry on another tourist visa. Attempting immediate return risks being refused at the airport. |
| Russian-issued cards are blocked from paying visa fees | The UAE visa application itself is accessible to Russians. Payment options depend on the specific agent and card type. Contact your chosen agent to confirm accepted payment methods. |
The following reflects the typical documented experience for a first-time applicant from Moscow applying for a 30-day single entry visit visa. This pattern is consistent with applicant journeys reported across Russian travel and expat communities in early 2026.
Background
Solo traveler from Moscow, applying for a 30-day single entry visit visa for a combined tourism and family visit to Dubai. First-time application via a licensed visa agent. Flight booked from Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO) to Dubai International (DXB) via flydubai — a direct route that operates multiple times weekly.
| Step | Day | What Happened |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Application submitted | Day 1 (Tue) | Applied online through licensed agent. Uploaded Russian passport (bio page + cover page + first/last page), color photo on white background, hotel booking in Dubai, round-trip ticket Moscow–Dubai–Moscow, travel insurance policy valid in UAE. |
| 2. Confirmation received | Day 1 | Application reference number sent by email. Processing began immediately. |
| 3. Agent document check | Day 2 (Wed) | Agent confirmed all documents were accepted — no resubmission needed. Passport cover page scan was flat and clearly readable. Transliteration of name from Cyrillic matched passport Latin characters exactly. |
| 4. Visa approved | Day 5 (Mon) | Approved visa PDF received by email. Total time from submission to approval: 5 working days (standard processing, no express upgrade needed). |
| 5. Travel and entry | Day 12 | Flew Moscow to Dubai. Cleared DXB immigration with visa PDF on phone. Immigration officer asked for return ticket and hotel booking — both presented on phone. Total immigration process: approximately 18 minutes including queue. Entry stamp confirmed 30-day stay from that date. |
| Visa Cost Item | AED | USD ~ |
|---|---|---|
| 30-day single entry visa (incl. VAT + agent fee) | AED 650 | ~USD 177 |
| Travel insurance (30-day UAE coverage) | AED 80 | ~USD 22 |
| Total (solo applicant) | AED 730 | ~USD 199 |
Key lesson: Applying 12 days before travel meant zero pressure even with standard processing. Submitting mid-week (Tuesday) meant processing started immediately and ran through a full working week. The flat, high-quality passport scan meant no resubmission request. The Cyrillic-to-Latin name transliteration matched the passport exactly — a detail specific to Russian applicants that catches many off guard. These decisions saved days.
These specific points separate a smooth Russia-to-Dubai application from a delayed or rejected one. They come from actual application patterns — which is why they matter more than the generic advice most guides repeat. Once your visa is confirmed, the best places to visit in Dubai with a visit visa is worth saving for your actual trip planning.
Information in this guide is based on publicly available data from UAE immigration authorities, ICP, and GDRFA as of May 2026. Always verify critical details — fees, processing time, document requirements — with a licensed visa agent before applying. A valid visa does not guarantee entry into the UAE; final entry is at UAE immigration officers’ discretion. All prices are subject to change without notice.

Russian citizens traveling to Dubai can generally benefit from the UAE’s visa-on-arrival policy for short tourist stays. This makes visiting Dubai simple and convenient for most travelers holding a valid Russian passport. However, entry is subject to immigration approval, and passport validity and travel documents must meet UAE requirements. For longer stays, work, or residency purposes, a pre-approved visa is required. Always check the latest UAE entry rules before departure to ensure a smooth and hassle-free trip.
No. Leaving the airport and clearing UAE immigration during a layover requires a valid Dubai transit or visit visa.
No. A visa is not required as long as you remain in the international transit zone and do not enter the UAE.
A Dubai short-term visit or tourist visa is suitable for meetings and negotiations that do not involve paid employment.
Yes. Family members may apply together, but each applicant must receive individual visa approval.
Yes. Russia citizens living in Moscow can complete the entire Dubai visa application process online.
Yes. A UAE visit visa issued via Dubai allows free movement across all seven emirates — including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain — with no additional permit required. Note that alcohol purchased in Dubai cannot be taken into Sharjah, which is a completely dry emirate.
Yes. Every traveler including newborns requires a separate UAE visit visa linked to their own passport. There is no family visa or option to add a child onto a parent's visa. Additional documents for minors include a birth certificate and parental consent letter. If only one parent is travelling, a notarized consent letter from the absent parent is strongly advised.
Extensions of 30 days are available via the ICP Smart Services portal or GDRFA Dubai app at AED 600 + VAT (approximately USD 172), typically up to 2 times. As of February 2026, the grace period has been removed — overstay fines begin from Day 1 at AED 50 per day (~USD 13.6/day). After 30 days of overstay, an exit permit costing AED 250–300 is also required before departure.
The most common causes are passport validity under 6 months from the UAE entry date, missing the passport front cover page scan (mandatory since September 2025), blurry or angled scans, a black-and-white photo, no return ticket, no travel insurance, a previous UAE overstay, and name or date-of-birth mismatches — including Cyrillic-to-Latin transliteration differences that don't match the passport exactly.
Standard processing takes 3–5 working days. Express processing delivers in 24–48 hours and emergency processing in 2–4 hours. UAE government processing does not run on Fridays and Saturdays, so submitting on Tuesday or Wednesday gives the fastest turnaround. Apply at least 7–10 days before travel, and 10–12 days during Ramadan or Eid.
Every application requires a color scan of the passport bio page, front cover page, and first/last pages (cover page mandatory since September 2025); a color passport photo on a white background; a confirmed return flight ticket; hotel booking or accommodation proof; and travel insurance with at least AED 100,000 UAE medical coverage. Bank statements are only needed for 90-day and 5-year multiple entry applications.
A standard 30-day visa costs AED 550–750 (approximately USD 150–204), including the UAE government fee, 5% VAT, and the agent's service charge. Express processing adds AED 150–400 and emergency processing adds AED 300–500. Some agents also require a refundable security deposit of AED 2,500 (~USD 681).
Options include 14-day, 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day single entry visit visas; a 96-hour transit visa; and multiple entry visas valid for 1 year (30 days per stay) or 5 years (90 days per stay). The 30-day single entry is the most popular choice for first-time visitors from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Kazan.
Yes. Russian passport holders must obtain a pre-approved UAE visa before departure. There is no visa on arrival at Dubai International Airport or any other UAE port of entry. Airlines operating from Moscow and Saint Petersburg will deny boarding to passengers without a valid approved visa.
